Do you want to enjoy adequate Florida medical insurance at dirt cheap rates? There are things you must take note of and apply if you're truly committed to getting huge discounts. I'll share a good number of them in this article...

1. There are drugs that are big brand names. If you buy such drugs, your rates will be more. Just in case you don't know, the law stipulates that every drug must have the same active ingredients irrespective of if they are brand name or generic. Where the differences begin and end are in their selection of inactive ingredients.

So by going for brand names you surely aren't enjoying added value in spite of the fact that they cost a lot more. Ask your doctor about this.

2. You'll be given more affordable premiums if you make your payments by Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT). This authorizes your insurer to automatically withdraw your premiums from your account at specified intervals. This saves the insurance company in many ways including removing the cost of sending payment notices and the expense associated with processing checks. An insurer passes part of what they save to you by offering you lower rates.

3. The Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act of 1985 (COBRA) insurance is a good choice for affordable coverage if you have a pre-existing condition that makes standard individual Florida medical insurance difficult or more costly.

4. You can make considerable savings on health insurance in a number of states if you are a home business owner. Such states make it mandatory that insurance providers offer home based businesses similar rates as they do other (bigger) businesses.

In several states your home business is eligible for a group rate provided it employs a staff.

The cheery news is that the member of staff could be your spouse or grown kid who works with you. You'll still qualify for such group rates if such an employee works only part time.

This will give your substantial savings as group rates are always lower than individual rates.

To to find out if your state gives such or if your home business meets eligibility requirements, visit your state's department of insurance.

5. There are situations for which you really should not see a doctor. For instance, your doctor can really do nothing for you if you have a cold or flu. Your doctor will likely do things you should have done on your own at home in a situation like that.

There's no way you can justify spending $100 for something you should have dealt with by yourself. Other examples are small bruises that just simple first aid will handle properly.
Teach yourself simple first aid procedures. Knowing a few simple procedures and having a well-stocked first aid box will help you save much on avoidable visits to a doctor.

But even in those cases if you're not sure visit a doctor since it's better to lose money than to jeopardize your life. But, please, know your bounds and don't forget that there are situations you must take to a doctor even if you know what to do. The law forbids you to do certain things if you're not a certified medical doctor. Having the right balance is necessary in this and other matters. You will spend less on your Florida medical insurance without endangering anyone if you do this.
