Do you want to get superior Florida medical insurance at dirt cheap rates? If you must get huge discounts, then you must NOT miss certain things. I'll discuss a good number of them in this article...
1. The pharmaceutical industry has big brand names. You'll raise your costs if you buy big brand name drugs. But are you aware that every generic drug has the same active agents as its big brand name version? Where the differences begin and end are in their choice of inactive agents.
So by going for brand names you surely aren't getting added value even though you are paying a lot more. Discuss with your doctor about this.
2. A straightforward but effective way of reducing your rate is by authorizing an EFT (Electronic Funds Transfer). This just means your insurer withdraws your premiums automatically from your account each month without sending you payment notices. This saves the insurance company in many ways including removing the cost of sending payment notices and the expense of processing checks. The insurer gives you part of what they save by reducing your premium.
3. For people who have a health condition that makes it difficult or costlier for them to find private individual health care coverage, the Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act of 1985 (COBRA) insurance could give a cheaper alternative.
4. A number of states offer home business owners an opportunity to lower their cost. States that give this opportunity have laws that demand that insurers give home business owners the same rates as they do big businesses.
And all it takes for your home business to qualify is just one employee.
You can have your spouse or grown up child to work as a member of staff. The interesting thing is that such an employee does not have to work full time to qualify you.
This option gives cheaper rates considering that group rates are usually lower than rates for individuals.
To check if you are eligible or even if your state has such a provision, call your state's department of insurance, department of financial services or their equivalence.
5. There are cases for which you really should not see a doctor. Take, for example, a viral infection like flu. Seeing your doctor will really make no difference in your health if you know what to do. Applying some home remedies will really help in those conditions. We all know that your doctor cannot do you much good if you have a viral infection.
There is no way you can justify spending $100 for something you should have done by yourself. Other instances are minor bruises that just simple first aid will take care of.
It is better to know how to handle simple home emergencies especially if you have kids. Most of those emergencies would be well taken care of if you take some time out to learn a little about first aid and also have a good first aid kit.
However, if you don't know what to do, go ahead visit your doctor. And a word of caution to individuals who may think they have learnt so much (while they are not trained medical personnels) know what you should not even attempt unless there is no way to get to a doctor on time. There are cases you are not meant to even attempt if you're not a medical professional. Having the right balance is important in this and other cases. If you do this right you will pay less in health insurance and as well not put yourself at any risk.
