We all know that your doctor cannot do you much good if you have a viral infection.

So is it wise to spend close to $100 to see a doctor when you already know that your situation would not be helped much? Other instances are small cuts that just simple first aid will take care of.
If you don't know these simple things take out time to read books on them especially if you have little children. There are many things that you can (and should) handle if you have taken the time to learn and as well have a well-stocked first aid box.

However, it's better to err on the side of caution and see a doctor if you're unsure. But, please, know your limits and be aware that there are things you must take to a doctor even if you know what to do. The law stops you from doing certain things if you are not a certified medical personnel. Just know what you should treat on your own and avoid what you shouldn't. This will decrease your visits to the doctor and, consequently, bring down your cost.
